Crystal Palace VS Fulham
Updated: Aug 4, 2023
Hello everyone,
Hope your all well.
On Saturday 2nd of February 2019 i went to watch Palace play Fulham. During the first half both teams looked very dangerous. The first piece of major action happened in the 22nd minute when fulham's Cyrus Christie handled the ball in the area and Palace was immediately awarded a Penalty. Luka Milivojevic stepped up and fired the ball into the top corner, the Fulham keeper got a hand to it but was unable to keep it out, it was 1-0 to Palace. In the 33rd minute Andros Townsend whipped the ball into the box where Benteke meets it with a spectacular bicycle kick that clipped the bar, if this would have gone in it would have been incredible. Nothing really happened between then and half time. During the second half Palace made lots of interceptions and made a few chances but couldn’t execute them. The palace players also kept giving the ball away very easily which was very frustrating. In the 80th we bought on our new signing Michy Batshuayi (who we signed on deadline day of the January transfer window on loan until the end of the season) for Jordan Ayew, hopefully Michy can help get Palace higher in the league table. Within 10 minutes he did some skill in the box and managed to get a shot on target which the goalkeeper could only punch out into the path of Jeffrey Schlupp which he slotted into the goal to make it 2-0, this was the final result.
My man of the match was Mamadou Sakho because he looked very solid at the back and helped to keep a clean sheet.
Match stats:
Palace had a total of 37.3% possession and Fulham and 62.7%.
Palace had 17 shots with 6 on target
Fulham had 8 shots with 0 on target
Due to the weather being really cold I wasn’t able to stay behind to didn’t see anybody after the game.
Thank you for reading
