Crystal Palace vs Watford
Updated: Aug 4, 2023
Hello everyone hope your well,
On Saturday 12th January I went to Crystal Palace vs Watford which was a premier league game. The game was eventful, in the first few minutes Watford were the stronger team but once we got into the game we got more into it. The first goal of the game came in the 38th minute, it was a Watford own goal so it was 1-0 to palace. For the rest of the first half we played well. In the 45th minute we had to make a substitute due to Guaita (who has been playing very well recently) picking up a injury, he was replaced by Wayne Hennessey. During the second half Watford’s goalkeeper made some amazing saves keeping the result 1-0. Watford scored their equaliser in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute McArther missed a goal scoring opportunity coming in from the back post, this could have put the game to bed and given us another win :(. The final goal was scored in the 74th which was scored buy Watford giving them the win. The match ended at 2-1 to Watford.
Match facts:
- Palace had a total of 15 shots with only 6 on target
- Watford had 16 shots with 2 on target and they scored both.
- Palace possession 55.2%
- Watford possession 44.8%
My Palace Man of the match would have to be Aaron Wan-Bissaka as he made some key tackles and made a impact on the game.
After the match I waited behind to see the players and I saw Patrick Van Annholt, Wayne Hennessey, James Tomkins, Max Meyer, Conor Wickham and ex Palace player and Palace legend Clinton Morrison.
Thank you for reading
